PERALTA HOUSE,

OAKLAND CA

The Peralta Residence project included restoration of original 1870s interior and exterior features. In addition to providing full architectural services from design to construction phase, KPA researched historic documentation and period design references to restore historic detailing. Owned by the City of Oakland, operated by the Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park, recognized with local landmark status, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this centerpiece of the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park (a resource that contributes to the Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail) required compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines. KPA worked closely with Oakland’s Planning Commission, Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board, and Friends of Peralta Hacienda. Today, the house provides space to accommodate a variety of community programming.
